Celebrating Daniel Hellmann: A Decade of Dedication as a CASA Volunteer

Ten years ago, a man named Daniel Hellmann took a step that would change the lives of countless children in need. He became a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer, embarking on a journey of selflessness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to children's best interests. Today, we celebrate Dan's 10-year anniversary as a CASA volunteer and honor his incredible impact on our program and the lives he has touched.

Dan Hellmann and Whitney Roberts

As a CASA volunteer, Dan has been assigned to a variety of cases involving children of all ages. His keen insights and relentless dedication have made him a trusted mentor to many within the CASA community. As a seasoned set of eyes, Dan has also reviewed cases for other CASA volunteers, offering invaluable guidance on making the best interest recommendations for children.

Dan's commitment to excellence is evident in his pursuit of ongoing education and training. Each year, he has surpassed the required national and state standards for CASA GAL, reflecting his passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children.

In addition to his work with CASA, Dan is a respected business owner, a dedicated volunteer for other organizations, and a proud veteran. His lifelong service to others is a testament to his exceptional character and the profound impact he has had on those around him.

One of the many ways Dan continues to serve is through his involvement with The Salvation Army. He has been called upon to drive people to recovery at the ARC in Ft. Wayne or to the homeless shelter in Jeffersonville. Dan also used to drive veterans to the VA in Louisville, extending his compassion and care to those who have served our country.

Whitney Roberts, the executive director of our CASA program, shares a special bond with Dan, who has been a dear friend and mentor to her throughout her journey with the organization. She says:

"There are many wonderful things that have come into my life since I became a CASA myself; however, the dear friend and mentor I have in Dan proves nothing is left to coincidence. In some ways, I feel like Dan and I have been on this journey together over the last seven years. From the moment I became a part-time volunteer coordinator many years ago to the executive director, Dan has always been the one volunteer that I have kept since my responsibilities grew. I share this with you so you understand how special this person is to me."

Dan's unwavering dedication to the CASA program and the children he serves is truly inspiring. As he celebrates his 10-year anniversary, we express our deepest gratitude for his service and the positive impact he has had on so many lives.

Daniel Hellmann, you are a beacon of hope and a shining example of what it means to be a CASA volunteer. Thank you for your selflessness and your tireless commitment to the children you serve.
