Ivy Tech Community College, Chandler Chevrolet, and Ritual Aesthetics Join Forces to Train New Court Appointed Special Advocates in Jefferson County

In an inspiring collaborative effort, Ivy Tech Community College, Chandler Chevrolet, and Ritual Aesthetics are coming together to sponsor training for new applicants aiming to become Jefferson County's newest Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). As community members complete interviews and undergo extensive background checks, they are set to gather in February for a comprehensive 30-hour training program that will equip them to serve vulnerable children in the child welfare system.

The excitement surrounding this initiative is palpable, as it not only prepares new advocates to step into a critical role but also expands the existing network committed to supporting the children of Jefferson County. Current child advocates are eager to welcome their new colleagues into the ranks, drawn by a shared passion for protecting and advocating for those in the most need.

Our local judge has recognized the ongoing need for more dedicated individuals to address the challenges faced by children entering the child welfare system. With cases consistently rising in our county, there is an increasing urgency for support, and the introduction of this new class provides hope.

“It is a reminder of this community’s strength and the powerful impact that dedicated child advocates can make in the lives of children,” Judge, DJ Mote.

The roots of this program run deep, thanks to the longstanding support from Chandler Chevrolet and Ivy Tech Madison Campus, both of which have generously sponsored CASA trainings for years. Their unwavering commitment to the cause demonstrates a profound belief in the vital work undertaken by CASA of Jefferson County’s child advocates, helping to create a more compassionate community.

Adding to the spirit of generosity, this year has seen the welcome involvement of Ritual Aesthetics, a new partner that has stepped up in an impressive way. Their significant donation in the form of 'Kroger' money, which will fund drinks and desserts for the new class, showcases their commitment to nurturing and empowering the community by enabling CASA training to be an enjoyable and enriching experience.

As we prepare to welcome these new individuals into our organization, there is tangible excitement in the air. The dedication and support from both seasoned child advocates and new recruits will undoubtedly fortify our mission of providing a voice for children in the system. By highlighting the importance of advocacy, we emphasize to the broader community that every child deserves a champion who can navigate the complexities of their situation with care and compassion beside them from the beginning of their case to the end.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Ivy Tech Community College, Chandler Chevrolet, and Ritual Aesthetics to train the next class of Court Appointed Special Advocates is a significantly positive development for Jefferson County. As the program grows, so too does the hope for children in need, ensuring that they have advocates ready to fight for their rights, stability, and future. Together, we not only build stronger advocates but also create a more resilient and caring community for all.
