CASA Executive Director Whitney Roberts Honored with 'Emerging Leader' Award by Madison Area Chamber of Commerce

In a remarkable recognition of dedication and leadership, Whitney Roberts, the Executive Director of CASA of Jefferson County (CASA), was honored with the prestigious 'Emerging Leader' award at the Annual Chamber Awards Dinner hosted by the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce on January 26, 2024.

The Annual Meeting & Dinner, a flagship event of the Chamber, celebrated the achievements of the Madison community, bringing together over 300 esteemed professionals. This event not only serves as a networking platform but also highlights the Chamber's initiatives and future plans.

Among the five distinguished awards presented during the dinner, the 'Emerging Leader' award stood out, recognizing an individual who exemplifies ethical, compassionate, and effective leadership. This year, the honor was bestowed upon Whitney Roberts, a figure who has significantly impacted the community through her work with CASA.

Whitney's journey with CASA began in 2016 as a volunteer, quickly transitioning to roles of increasing responsibility, including part-time bookkeeper, full-time Volunteer Coordinator, Program Manager, and ultimately, Executive Director in February 2022. Her leadership has been characterized by smart financial decisions, growth in fundraising and marketing efforts, and a keen ability to manage complex conflicts with respect and understanding.

Under Whitney's stewardship, CASA of Jefferson County has flourished, creating a work environment that is both rewarding and enjoyable. Her commitment extends beyond CASA, as she actively participates in various community boards and teams, including the Jefferson County Community Corrections Advisory Board, Prevent Child Abuse Jefferson County Board, and the Indiana State office of GAL/CASA Advisory Commission for Best Practices, Ethics, and Standards.

Upon receiving the award, Whitney expressed her gratitude and pride: "I am so honored to receive this award! The last year has been a whirlwind of progress for our program. I am so proud of our Court Appointed Special Advocates and staff for the work they are doing in child abuse and neglect cases. It's just wonderful to see what this team is doing, and I can't wait to see where they take me next!"

Whitney's award is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the community and her role in shaping a brighter future for children in need. Her leadership at CASA and involvement in various community initiatives reflect her passion and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
