Local Artist Eric Phagan Presents "The Gospel" in Support of CASA of Jefferson County and Other Local Organizations

CASA of Jefferson County is thrilled to support the upcoming art show, "The Gospel," by the renowned local artist Eric Phagan. This two-day event, set for November 8th and 9th, aims to shine a light on the children in our community in need and raise funds to support their cause.

As a child I remember being fascinated by the things I could not fathom. Places, people, memories, and dreams (as objects) became intriguing to me. I would record my own impression of the world around me by creating drawings to help me understand the way I had seen them. Time has always been a factor in my work. Layered lines over raw textures and torn surfaces gives a validation of age, and this progress captures my imagination. Like old film or a photograph, my work becomes a snapshot or experience in time. Each line represents both a mark of memory or an experience passing through time. The recordings of my experiences are my work...an understanding of my life, the world around and before me. It’s a similar world of my childhood imaginings, which in turn, becomes everything that I know that I am.

As CASA of Jefferson County continues to advocate for children in need, the support from projects like Eric's will enhance its ability to provide essential services. It is a reminder that philanthropy is not just about monetary contributions; it is about investing in people and the love of community.

In the coming weeks, as Eric’s project gains traction, the excitement is expected to grow. The community will be looking forward to not only the benefits that will arise from the auction but also the overall message of hope and solidarity in addressing the needs of vulnerable children. As Roberts succinctly puts it, “the engagement of compassionate individuals ensures a brighter future for those who need it most.”
